Program Coordinator &

Choreographer- Jim Moore

Jim Moore has served on the design team for the Blast/ MEG organization for the past 10 years. Jim has been the principal dancer of Blast, Shockwave and Cyberjam as well as working extensively on training the casts in all movement technique. Jim along with the choreography team received an Emmy Award for the PBS broadcast of Blast. They were also nominated for the 2002 Tony Award and 2002 National Broadway Theatre Award in Choreography. Jim has been dancing professionally for 12 years, beginning his career as a principal dancer for the Georgia Ballet Company.

Along with Jim's ballet career, he has been the choreographer for many World Champion Winter Guard and Drum & Bugle Corps organizations including the Pride of Cincinnati, Emerald Marquis and the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.

 

Music Arranger- Vince Oliver

Vince Oliver is a graduate of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where he studied percussion performance and composition. Upon graduating, he toured with the cast of the Broadway show, Blast! as the featured marimba soloist for two years. Vince was also able to tour several summers in Japan as a featured percussionists in five different MEG/KTI productions: Blast 2005, Blast II MIX 2006, Blast (Broadway Version) 2007, Blast II MIX 2008, Blast (Tour Version) 2009.

As an educator, Vince served as Percussion Director at James Logan High School from 2003-2013. Under his consultation the JLHS Wind Ensembles performed at The Midwest Clinic, Carnegie Hall, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, WASBE, and the Edinburgh Music Festival. Additionally, the marching band won seven consecutive WBA Championships, and the JLHS Percussion Ensembles made several WGI World Class Finals appearances, earned one WGI silver medal, and won a WGI Championship in 2013.

As a composer/arranger, Mr. Oliver has the privilege of writing for various ensembles throughout the world. His wind ensemble and orchestra compositions have been performed at The Walt Disney Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center,  The Palau de Música in Barcelona, WASBE, and his parade arrangement of 2012 Overture for Saratoga High School was featured in the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Press, a piece for string orchestra and electronics was premiered at the 2014 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic; Press Play, for wind band and electronics, was performed at the 2017 Midwest Clinic. In 2017 and 2019, Vince had the honor of being musical director and co-arranger for a new Blast production featuring the music of Disney. Blast! The Music of Disney has been a very successful sequel to the original show, and continues to delight audiences throughout Japan.

Vince Oliver was the sound designer and music coordinator for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from 2014-2018. He currently arranges/composes and serves as production assistant to several marching ensembles throughout the world.

Vince Oliver is an Innovative Percussion artist, and a member of ASCAP.

Drill Designer- Jason “paco” Nunes

Jason Nunes currently resides in Florida, where he began his career with the pageantry arts. He is an in demand drill writer, active adjudicator and program coordinator for ensembles across the country. Jason has had the pleasure to have created productions for consistently award-winning programs such as STRYKE Wynds, Stoneman Douglas marching band, Nease indoor percussion, as well as many other scholastic and independent groups. In the past,

Jason has been involved with the instructional staff for Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders and Infinity Percussion, while consulting for many others locally and nationally.  He is an advocate and constant participant of the Winter Guard International, Bands of America, Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit and Florida Marching Band Circuits.

Lacey Barnes

Movement Coach

Lacey Barnes, Founder and Director of Lace Up Studios, was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina where her dance training started at the age of 3. She trained and competed with The Southern Strutt Dance Company in Irmo, SC, under the direction of Nancy Giles. While with Southern Strutt, Lacey gained experience training under well renowned choreographers such as, Dee Caspary, Tina Caspary, Justin Giles, Wade Robson, and Ray Leeper.

Attending many dance conventions over the years, Lacey was awarded dance scholarships from West Coast Dance Explosion and NYCDA. She spent many summers training in Los Angeles at the EDGE Performing Arts Center.  

In 2008, Lacey graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Public Health. While attending USC, she was a member of the Carolina Girls Competitive Dance Team and a Carolina Coquette dancer with the University of South Carolina Marching Band. Go Gamecocks!!

For the past 11 years, Lacey has had the opportunity to train students of all ages in the genres of Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Lyrical. Lacey loves spending time with her fiancé, James, and their two adorable cats Cowboy and JJ. 

Lauren Flores

Color Guard Staff

Lauren Flores is from Willard, Mo and has been very involved in the colorguard community. She spent six summers participating in DCI in the groups Music City, Phantom Regiment, and Carolina Crown where she aged out in 2019. She also spent 4 years at Missouri State University spinning on The Pride of Missouri State Winterguard. For 2020 she was also a part of CGT Dallas winterguard. Outside of her passion of teaching and performing with different Color Guard organizations she enjoys sewing and spending time outside.

Al Dunn

Assistant Percussion Director

Al Dunn is in his eighth year with the Falcon Band. His responsibilities include writing/instructing the front ensemble and electronics/amplification. He also works with the indoor percussion which is a Winter Guard International PSO finalist.

Mr. Dunn studied percussion performance at LSU and has been an educator in the DFW area since the mid 90's. During that time, he's had the honor of conducting groups at the PAS call for tapes, BOA percussion festival, and the Leigh Howard Stevens high school marimba seminar. He also was on staff for the WGI PIO gold medalists Vigilantes Indoor Percussion.

His DCI experience includes marching with the Phantom Regiment and Blue Devils. He has also written and/or taught for the Regiment, Glassmen, Crossmen and other groups across the US and Canada. He is currently an adjudicator with DCI.

Mr. Dunn is a member of PAS, TMEA, and Phi Mu Alpha. He is an endorser of Innovative Percussion.

Administrative Assistant- Shei Wells

Shei has been an active member of the Falcon Band feeder pattern since 2009. Prior to that time, she could frequently be heard saying things like, “That’s cute that you want to play your little trumpet. I am NOT going to be one of those “BAND MOMS.”

During her time at TCHS over the last eight years, Shei held multiple volunteer and board positions, including Game Day/Contest Meal Coordinator, BPA Director of Events, BPA Co-Treasurer, KISD Bookkeeper, and Jazz Band Groupie. She was the proud recipient of the Timber Creek High School Volunteer of the Year Award for the 2019-2020 school year.

Shei and her husband, Shane, have two sons: Blake (2016), who is pursuing a Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance from Southern Methodist University, and Cade (2020), who is attending Texas Tech University, majoring in Music Education and Jazz Studies. When she isn’t wearing her band mom hat, Shei loves playing the piano, cooking, reading, crafting, and collecting shoes (53 pairs and counting!). She does not love ironing or being in conditions that don’t involve air conditioners.

After their youngest, Cade, graduated from Timber Creek, Shei was thrilled to stay on board to help out with the Timber Creek Band program that has meant so much to her and her family!
