OUR HISTORY

Timber Creek High School is a Texas UIL Class 6A high school in the Keller Independent School District located north of Fort Worth, Texas.

Established in 2009, the TCHS band program currently boasts a membership of over 300 students. The Timber Creek Marching Band has participated in BOA Regional and Super Regional contests in St. Louis (2015, 2024), Conroe (2016), San Antonio (2017-19), DFW (2018-19), and Midland (2017-19). They were named the 4A Class Champions in Midland in 2018 and placed second in 2019. The marching band has been consistent UIL Area finalists, advancing to the UIL State Marching Band Contest four consecutive years (2021-2024).

The Timber Creek concert bands have seen much success in Texas UIL performances, consistently achieving “Sweepstakes.” In 2016, the Timber Creek Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, Washington. In 2019, the Timber Creek Saxophone Ensemble was invited to perform at the 73rd annual Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. Most recently, Timber Creek Wind Ensemble was one of eleven bands in the 6A classification to earn the National Winner prize. This is the second time the ensemble has earned this award (2022, 2024).

The Foundation for Music Education also awards a Citation of Excellence, reserved for Non-Varsity bands. Our Symphonic Band also submitted recordings and were named one of six bands to earn the Citation of Excellence award.

Learning opportunities for TCHS band members include marching band, 4 concert bands, 2 nationally competitive winter guards, percussion ensembles, indoor percussion, jazz band, and AP music theory. Students from the TCHS band program go on to pursue careers in many musical fields, including music education, music therapy, and performance, as well as aspiring to experiences with Drum Corp International.
