Chad Mason has served as Assistant Band Director and Percussion Director at Timbercreek High School in Keller, TX since 2011. Under his leadership, the Timbercreek High School percussion program has achieved high levels of excellence in all areas of percussion. Students in the Timbercreek percussion program have excelled at Region band auditions, various solo and ensemble contests, and drumline contests...
A few of the honors the ensemble have received include the High Percussion Award at the Tournament of Champions in 2013, and second place at the Lonestar Drumline Classic in 2012. Most recently, the drumline received first place at an NTCA indoor drumline contest in 2014.
Mr. Mason is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and the Texas Music Educators Association and is endorsed by Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets. Mr. Mason graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. During his college career, he studied percussion with Dr. Brian West, Paul Rennick, Mark Ford, and Christopher Deane.
His drum corps experience includes marching with the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps in 1999, and the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2002. Mr. Mason was also on the percussion staff with the Boston Crusaders in 2004. Mr. Mason lives in Corinth, TX with his wife, Kelly and their two sons, Miles and Brennan.
