Blake Birmingham is an American Euphoniumist, Composer, and Educator. He attended the University of North Texas, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Euphonium Performance. During his undergraduate degree Blake studied with the world renowned Dr. Brian Bowman, and had additional studies with Dr. Patrick Nyren, respectively. At North Texas, Blake performed with the North Texas Wind Symphony, North Texas Symphony Orchestra, and the North Texas Symphonic Band, and can be heard on numerous CDs recordings of these respective ensembles as well. Blake has also had a wide variety of success in competitions. Most notably, Blake was awarded 1st prize in the 2018 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Artist Competition.
Blake performs regularly as a member of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, as a featured guest soloist, and as a teacher/clinician. A few highlights include guest artist appearances at Stephen F. Austin St. University, Missouri St. University, Litha Symphony Orchestra, OkMEA, and the United States Army Band Tuba Euphonium Workshop, and the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Low Brass at East Central University in Ada Oklahoma, and is pursuing a Masters in Euphonium Performance under the mentorship of Professor David Childs at the University of North Texas. This is includes also maintaining a studio of over 40 private students.
Blake is proud to be a Besson Artist, and performs exclusively on the Besson Prestige 2052 Euphonium.
